One tool, eight kinds of paper

Most printable paper sites hand you a fixed PDF and hope it suits you. PrintNook lets you build the exact sheet you need. Switch between lined, graph, dot grid, isometric, music staff, Cornell, handwriting and hexagon layouts without leaving the page, and every setting updates the live preview instantly.

How to use it

  1. Pick a paper style. Choose lined, graph, dot grid, isometric, music staff, Cornell, handwriting or hexagon from the buttons at the top of the panel.
  2. Set the spacing in millimetres. Wider spacing suits large handwriting, tighter spacing fits more per page. The preview redraws as you drag.
  3. Choose the page size and orientation. Pick A4 or Letter to match the paper in your tray, then portrait or landscape.
  4. Choose a line colour. A light grey keeps the guides subtle so your own writing stays in front.
  5. Download the PDF and print at 100 percent. Press Download PDF, then set scaling to 100 percent and turn off Fit to page in your print dialog.

Print at true scale. In your print dialog set scaling to 100 percent, not Fit to page. That keeps a 5 mm grid at exactly 5 mm so measurements stay honest. How we measure explains what happens between the millimetre you set and the ink on the page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the paper true to size when I print it?

Yes, as long as you print at 100 percent scale with Fit to page switched off. Every line and dot is positioned in real millimetres and written into the PDF that way, so a 5 mm grid measures 5 mm on paper.

Can I choose A4 or US Letter?

Both. A4 is 210 by 297 mm and US Letter is 215.9 by 279.4 mm, so the generator redraws the layout for whichever sheet you pick rather than scaling one to fit the other.

Does anything get uploaded?

No. The preview and the PDF are both built by JavaScript running in your own browser. There is no server step, no account, and nothing is stored once you close the tab.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The controls stack above the preview on narrow screens and the PDF saves to your device the same way. Printing then goes through your device's own print or share sheet.

How do I make several sheets at once?

Set the Pages control before you download and the PDF repeats the same sheet that many times, up to 50. That is one print job instead of pressing Download over and over.

May I use the sheets at work or in class?

Yes. The PDFs are free for personal, classroom and commercial use, with no attribution required and no watermark on the page.
